Wooden pallets in salons and gardens

Beds, tables and shelves made of wooden pallets are very popular and we are happy to put them in our homes and apartments. The time has come for the palettes to be used also in the garden.

Design garden chairs made of wooden pallets are comfortable and can be easily done by yourself.

Take advantage of our course, do it yourself and prepare a comfortable seat from pallets to the terrace.

What will be needed:

  • 2 pallets (120 x 80 cm)
  • 2 OSB boards (38 x 120 cm)
  • 4 metal wood connectors (12 x 6 cm)
  • 16 wood screws
  • paint or wood impregnating agent
  • universal sander or sandpaper
  • paint sprayer,
  • roller or brush
  • Cordless Drill

STEP I – Sanding wooden pallets

In order for the paint to adhere well to the wood surface, you need to sand the pallet thoroughly. This is especially important in a situation where you have not bought new pallets, and you are building a chair from old used recycled pallets.

A universal battery grinder or sandpaper is perfect for grinding, but with the second method, you’ll be grinding all day long.

STEP II – Painting pallets and OSB boards

After grinding and thorough removal of all dust from the pallets, you can start painting wood.

The construction of pallets makes it difficult to reach with a roller and even brush to some places, so it is worth using a spray gun for painting.

Remember to paint OSB boards

STEP III – Connecting wooden pallets and OSB boards

After the paint has dried thoroughly, you must combine it with each other. You will need simple wood connectors and a screwdriver. Connect the fasteners on the sides of the pallets, as shown in the picture.

With OSB boards, make the back of the chair. All you have to do is put them in one of the last slots in the top palette.

To make the garden chair comfortable, put it in thick, rectangular or square pillows.

This simple piece of furniture from pallets is perfect for summer evenings spent on the terrace in the company of friends, as well as those with interesting reading.

All the best,
